Trileptal

Adding Trileptal to my daily regiment of Keppra.  Turns out I have continued to have seizures at a high rate.  They are just a different type.  Pretty discouraging to find out about that yesterday.  Not looking forward to adding the new med as it just adds more side effects.  An uphill battle going on here.

Going uphill always makes me tired!
Tired but stronger!

  1. Out of curiosity, what kinds of seizure are you having? I ask as someone who has become familiar with many kinds! And it would be interesting to hear another person's account of how the various types affect you. In our epilepsy journey I have learned that even the docs that deal with this have little understanding of the many effects on the body. I also cannot understand. I go by the information I get from my daughter. She is a bit of a drama queen so I never know how much to believe.

  2. This new type that I have begun having is not violent or physically dangerous. I simply lose track of where and who I am. I will spend minutes or even hours without any grasp on reality. Sometimes I will wander off or get lost but it is always associated with short term memory loss.
I thought it was an effect from the medication however was informed by the doc yesterday that it is a form of seizure.

  3. My son has had seizures since he was 3 and 1/2 years old. He is now 9. We finally have things under control, but it has and continues to be an adventure. Hope this works for you.
